We are happy to announce that our new music collaborator is…Bill Finn!
Bill had an impressive showing in the TILTtheScore Contest. He won the 3rd round of voting with 40% of the total votes and placed a very close second in the final round with almost 170 votes. He has a BA in guitar performance and will be attending the University of Leeds this fall to study music history and composition. We thoroughly enjoyed his contest submission, but one of the other things that grabbed us was his upbeat attitude. Here’s what he has to say about getting feedback:
“One of the best ways to learn and grow is by criticism, good or bad. Hell, Thom York’s response to a bad review about Pablo Honey was The Bends!”
We love Bill’s attitude and look forward to getting to know him better as TILT races toward the finish line. Congratulations, Bill! Welcome to the team.
Choosing a winner from our finalists was the most difficult thing we’ve done in our TILT journey so far; each of them had the skill to produce a resonating and successful score. If you’re looking for your own indie movie music collaborator, we encourage you to check them out:
We’d also like to thank EVERYONE who voted, commented, and spread the word about this contest. The outpouring of support and encouragement for us and for the contestants was overwhelming, and we are dedicated to creating the best movie possible so that we can share it with you.
So what’s up next for TILT?
- Julie & Jessica are putting the finishing touches on draft #4 of the script. (Scary!)
- Jeremy is gathering equipment and ideas for the look of TILT. (Fancy!)
- Phil is in the throes of casting. (Business-y!)
- More contests, ’cause it seems like you kinda liked that last one… (Vote-y!)
- And soon…announcements about how YOU can get involved with TILT!
